Garnet Glamour

Here is another of our recent designs - Charu and Bryan wanted something very special for their weddings invitation, they wanted it to be a gift to their guests. We ended up with a unique custom design featuring a garnet red Dupioni silk folio with gold satin ribbon and "bling" jewel and inside was the invitation and stacked reply and information cards. The invitation was printed with black raised ink on gold cardstock. We based design motif on the Mehndi designs that are painted on the bride's hands with henna ink in Hindu wedding tradition.

Luxe Lavender

Hello there, sorry for the lack of posts - we've been super busy these days completing some couture wedding invitation orders. I will be sure to post our recent work so you can see what we've been up to.

To start off, I'd like to show you the custom "Glamorous" design that we did for Jasmin & Sean's August 8th wedding. Their colour scheme is shades of lilac & purple and gold & silver & "bling" accents (of course!). This SUPER luxurious wedding is going to be held in a castle, so their invitation had to really reflect that! Their invitation was sent to their guests in a mailing box with custom calligraphy and a custom monogram that we designed especially for them.

Once you open the mailing box, you'll see the monogram sticker and the deep purple tissue paper "wrap". The silvery-lavender Dupioni silk gate-fold invitation box had a lilac satin Midori ribbon band and "bling" buckle surrounding it. Inside was gold raised ink printed on shimmery lilac cardstock. Their Reply, Directions cards were tucked into the pockets of each of the flaps of the box. Stay tuned for more reception item photos as we get closer to their wedding date!

A Piece of Cake

After my recent "Cake Bling" posting I decided I really wanted to find out about current trends in the world of wedding cakes. I asked the creative pastry designer Shirley from Shirley's Sweet Creations to tell us a bit more about what she's been seeing lately when designing custom cakes for her wedding clients.

"In terms of color trends, it's all about BOLD and strong contrasts, lot's of black and white, pink and brown, shades of green." When asked about cake styles that are more popular these days, Shirley said "I'm asked to design one-of-a-kind cakes that reflect the couple's personalities, ethnic backgrounds and interests and hobbies." "I also see a lot of patterns such as damask or lace, I'm also receiving more requests to design Groom's cakes that reflect their hobbies or interests."

Thanks for sharing your cake trend knowledge Shirley, your cakes are almost too gorgeous to eat!

Cake Bling!

Ok, there are so many things that I love about weddings...but two of my favorites are mongrams and bling...ok and cake, so three favorites! I just happened across Toppers with Glitz the other day and was blown away by the gorgeous cake topper monograms all embellished with Swarovski crystals! Sari (the designer) has a rainbow of crystals to choose from and she can work with any monogram design - either from your graphic designer or you can create your own from her extensive font list.

These gorgeous little letters can always be framed along with your couture invitation (of course) as a keepsake after your wedding...or used as a wonderful "blingy" Christmas tree ornament. It's hard to decide but I think I really like the two-toned blue & white "W", it's so elegant. Which one is your fave?

Bride & Bloom {Summer '08}

Christmas came early for us today...we are so excited to show you the photos from the new Summer '08 "The Bride & Bloom" Magazine! First of all, we have the editorial from the "Asian Contemporary" piece where we designed the Asian-inspired invitation in a gold silk box, and coordinating menu, favor tag, table name and place cards. Faire La Fete Productions' Gabrielle Tucker's creative vision was pure eye candy!

As part of another feature in the magazine, the editors developed a creative piece about taking inspiration from movies and creating fabulous wedding themes around them.

We had the "Eternity" design from our Prestige Collection featured as part of the Cinderella Classic-inspired wedding...

Then we had our "Tiffany" silk box invitation featured as part of the Breakfast at Tiffany's Upscale Chic-inspired wedding....

And last but not least, we created our newest invitation design "Starlet" (my personal fave at the moment!) from the Prestige Collection specifically for the Some Like it Hot - Sexy-inspired layout.

We are so thrilled to be a part of this gorgeous and inspiring magazine, you've got to get yourself a copy of Bride & Bloom asap!
